History

E. M. Ford & Company was established in Owensboro, Kentucky in 1925 by Senator E. M. Ford as an independent insurance agency. He was joined by his two sons, Honorable Wendell Ford, and Reyburn Ford, who became owners in the late 1960s.

In the early 1980s, the agency transferred leadership to the third generation of Fords, Wendell’s son Steve and Reyburn’s son Rick. A fourth generation of Fords, Steve’s sons, Clay and Neel, have also joined the agency in 2002 and 2008, respectively.

In 1995, we opened a second location in Henderson, Kentucky to expand our presence and better serve the communities of northwestern Kentucky and southwestern Indiana.

Over the past eight-plus decades, E.M. Ford & Company has grown from a one-man agency to an insurance and financial planning group with 26 employees, offering our clients not just protection from misfortune but strategies for building wealth.
